History
The
Byron Bay English Language School opened in 1998 with the aim of
providing high quality English language tuition in a beautiful and
natural environment and to compliment this educational experience with
a range of activity options.
Quality
The
Byron Bay English Language School is fully accredited with NEAS
Australia. NEAS is a government organisation that protects the quality
of schools that offer English language tuition to overseas students. It
stands for quality. We are also a member of the Australian Council For
Private Education and Training - ACPET.
Location
The
school is located in the central part of Byron Bay, 2 minutes walk from
the bus stop. We are on the ground floor of a two storey building
(picture) in Jonson Lane. Access is also available from Carlyle St. The
Bunkhouse backpackers hostel is located on the second level of our
building. Outside the classrooms there is a sheltered outdoor garden
area for students to relax, eat lunch and enjoy conversations with
other students.
Nationalities
Students
from all countries are welcome to study in Byron Bay. Most students
come from Europe (Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain), Asia
(Japan, Korea) or South America (Brazil and Argentina). Our aim is to
attract as many nationalities as possible to ensure an international
learning environment.
We
offer intensive General English courses for international students and
travellers. We also offer a selection of activities to complement our
part time English courses -surfing, diving, activities and music.
|
Our Full time English course is listed on CRICOS, the Commonwealth
Government Register of International Courses for Overseas Students.
All
students take an initial assessment test, are graded and issued with a
weekly timetable. Our timetable offers classes each morning from 9am
until 12.30pm.
Levels
Our
school offers up to 4 levels of English proficiency: elementary,
pre-intermediate, intermediate and upper intermediate. All students
have the opportunity to move to a higher class as each level is
mastered. More study levels are added as student numbers increase.
Facilities
Our
school has comfortable air-conditioned classrooms. There is a large
covered outdoor common space which we also use for conversation groups.
TV/video facilities are also available for use in classroom and
situations. Our school also offers computer/internet facilities for its
students. These facilities are used in some classroom and self access
activities as well as for students' personal need to communicate with
family and friends at home by email
